Yellowstone River 8-5-19

The Yellowstone is fishing well most days.  The fish have been feeding on Golden Stone flies in both adult and nymph stages.  Smaller Yellow Sally stone flies, caddis flies,  Trico and Rusty Spinners are also bringing fish to the surface.  The hoppers are starting to really show up on the banks and on certain days the hopper bite has been very good.  We’ve been fishing hopper/dropper rigs as well as Golden Stone/dropper rigs.  If the hopper bite is off, fish a nymph rig in three to four feet of water or strip a steamer deep.  Stop in the shop for more up to date information!
