Yellowstone River 8-11-19

The Yellowstone is fishing well.  The grasshoppers are out in numbers and the fish are taking notice.  Fish a hopper or a hopper dropper combination, we’ve been fishing a variety of beadhead nymphs as droppers.  Look for the best feeding on the seams of faster currents and below riffles and shelves.  Fish are also being caught on streamers and nymph rigs.  Black, yellow, olive and brown streamers are all recommended.  Nymph fish a golden stone nymph and a smaller beadhead for good results.  Prince nymphs, copper johns, hares ear and pheasant tail nymphs have all been taking fish.  Stop in the flyshop for most recent reports.
