Yellowstone
The Yellowstone is clear and fishing well. With this stretch of dry weather/heat, we shouldn’t see the Yelly cloud up in the near future. With that being said, we are on “summer hours” as far as fishing goes. Try to get on the river early and take out early. This latest stretch of heat has made the afternoon a bit of a bear to fish in, but mornings and evenings have been fishing well with large Caddis hatches along the banks and a few PMDs and Yellow Sallies. Psycho Princes (yellow), Girdle Bugs, and Double Bead Stones have been working well sub-surface.
Boulder River
The Boulder is now sitting bellow 200 cfs, so one may think twice about floating the river. However—wade fishing has been fantastic, especially in the national forest where water temps are a bit cooler. Spruce moths, PMDS, and Yellow Sallies have been fishing well. Red Copper Johns, PTs, and Dark Hares Ears have been working sub-surface.
