Yellowstone River 6/26/2016

Run off is a distant memory and the Yelly has officially come into shape with flows currently hovering around 6,000 CFS. Plenty of bugs are hatching in the early morning and evening. We have been seeing brown drakes, tan caddis, and a sporadic Salmon Fly. Despite decent hatches, streamer fishing seems to be the ticket as of late. Streamers that should find their way onto the end of your line include buggers in the yellow, black, brown, and olive variation. Nymphs that have been working for the Sweet Cast crew include the infamous Dark Hares Ear, Doubled Bead Golden Stone, Bead Head Pheasant Tails, and the Copper John.
